Stairway to Heaven (story)

Chen-Jun is the only son of a wealthy family. Jing-Shu is Chen-Jun’s childhood friend, and they were there for each other when one of their respective parents passed away. They spent a lot time together, playing, and sharing their inner most thoughts.


When Jing-Shu’s father re-married Tae-Mei-Rou, Mei-Rou brought her children Tai-Hwa and You-Li from her previous marriage. That marked the end of Jing-Shu’s happy days. You-Li was jealous of the privileged life that Jing-Shu led, and vowed to take everything away from Jing-Shu, including Chen-Jun.



When Chen-Jun left for his studies in the U.S., he gave Jing-Shu a necklace as a gift of his love.

On Tai-Hwa’s birthday, Jing-Shu gave him a birthday present. Tai-Hwa mistook Jing-Shu’s kindness as love, and he fell head over heels in love with her. Jing-Shu never accepted Tai-Hwa as her heart is with Chen-Jun, but Tai-Hwa became Jing-Shu’s soul mate after Chen-Jun left as she weathers life under the tyranny of Mei-Rou and You-Li.

Chen-Jun returns 3 years later from his studies and calls Jing-Shu to meet him. You-Li runs Jing-Shu down with her car in a mad bid to stop Jing-Shu from her rendezvous with Chen-Jun. In her state of panic, You-Li sends a bloodied Jing-Shu to her own father’s place. Tai-Hwa tracks Jing-Shu down and takes care for her. Jing-Shu survives the accident but forgets everything about the past. Tai-Hwa decides to start life afresh with Jing-Shu by giving her a new identity as Kim Ji-suh.



Chen-Jun thinks Jing-Shu has died, and is heartbroken. He returns 5 years later with You-Li from the US. He can’t forget Jing-Shu, but feels obligated to You-Li, who’s stayed with him for the past few years. He agrees to his mother's arrangement to marry You-Li.



On their engagement day, Chen-Jun sees Kim Ji-suh on the carousel and runs madly after her, only to realize that the person with the same face as Jing-Shu has no memory or collection of her identity as Han Jing-Shu, or of him Cha Chen-Jun. Kim Ji Suh is a fashion designer and is in a relationship with Tai-Hwa.


Chen-Jun goes on a mission to prove that Kim Ji Suh is Han Jing-Shu. Ji Suh is confused by Chen-Jun’s action, but she is also touched by his actions for Jing-Shu.


Jing-Shu finally remembers the past and is angry at Tai-Hwa for what he did. But she is torn as she is still emotionally attached to Tai-Hwa, and is touched by the care and love that he has showered her all that time when Chen-Jun was not there. Chen-Jun is also torn as he is to be engaged to You-Li, and his family’s reputation is at stake if he does not follow as planned.


Chen-Jun decides to give up his family business and goes against his mother’s wishes to be with Jing-Shu. But Jing-Shu knows that one of Chen-Jun’s aspirations is to expand and scale his family’s corporation to greater heights. She asks Chen-Jun to go back, and promises to wait for him.


Unfortunately, Jing-Shu finds out that she has cancer of the eye. She decides to leave Chen-Jun, and she takes refuge with Tai-Hwa. Chen-Jun is tipped off by Tai-Hwa, and both men beg Jing-Shu to seek treatment and fight to live despite the devastating odds. Jing-Shu eventually agrees.



She has a successful treatment but she continues to be in danger should the cancer cells move to another major organ.


Chen-Jun invites all to his wedding, without announcing who the bride will be. Tai-Hwa brings a blind Jing-Shu to the wedding, much to the surprise of Mei-Rou and You-Li. At the same occasion, Tai-Hwa breaks the news to all about the accident and both You-Li and Mei-Rou are taken away. Jing-Shu changes her mind, and says ‘Yes’ at the altar.







Tai-Hwa sees Jing-Shu happily married, but is sad that she is not able to see the world anymore. He decides to donate his cornea to her but the doctors refuse to perform the operation and tell him that they don’t remove corneas for implants from a living person. Tai-Hwa commits suicide in a car accident to leave his cornea for Jing-Shu. Jing-Shu regains her eye sight and tells Chen-Jun her desire to live.
Unfortunately Jing-Shu’s cancer cells have moved to her brain and she is dying..

I hated the Step Mother & Step sisters. Never see such a wicked mother who is not only bully the step daughter but also her own son. How can the step sister looks prettier than Jing Shu when both of them grown up…..not fair….






I hated the wedding night when Jin Shu & Chen Jun is in their bed, either you take your clothes off, or your don’t .

I hated the ending, poor Tai Hwa Ge wasted his life for nothing.... sob sob

I hated Chen Jing for always pushing Jing Shu’s shoulder….so rough…typical Korean man.

I hated the ending - so you expect a stud like Chen Jun to live it out all alone till he meets Jing Shu in heaven? In the mean time, can I give him my number...




I cried a lot for this show…….and manage to finish 20 disks within 2 days….
Edward & Merrick can’t stand me either…..for crying……
